2026 A New Season After a Michigan Spring

Lavender rows at Plainly Elegant Lavender Farm near Ann Arbor with Rainbow Butterfly
The fields are open for 2026, and we're so glad to have you back among the rows.

We'll be honest with you. It was a hard winter. A late frost caught the farm, and we lost more plants than we'd hoped. As you walk the rows this year, you might notice a few bare, woody stems standing here and there among all the green. That's the winter showing.

Our biggest loss was a big planting of Grosso that didn't make it through. That one stung. But it gave us a reason to start something new. In its place, we're putting in fresh plants this season. More of the Folgate and Big Time Blue blends so many of you already love. They bloom earlier than the Grosso did, so there'll be more lavender, sooner, in the years ahead.

So the field is in two moods this year. Some plants are coming into their best, full and fragrant. Others are young, just settling into the soil. We think there's something lovely in that and hope that you will too.

Come walk slowly. We'll have the clippers ready. Cut what calls to you. We'll be here in our quiet corner of Washtenaw County, glad for your company.
